Performance Excellence Operations Engineer - Performance Excellence in Irving, TX

Summary:

The Operations Engineer supports the Performance Excellence Team in monitoring key operational metrics and sustaining initiatives across ministries. This hands-on role assists in analyzing data, conducting process reviews, and identifying potential risks to performance under the guidance of more senior team members. The Operations Engineer contributes to early identification of deviations from One CHRISTUS standards and supports the team in realigning operations with established practices and goals.

This position collaborates with clinical, operational, and analytical staff to support improvement efforts and promote consistency with enterprise performance expectations. The role requires foundational analytical skills, an understanding of process improvement principles, and the ability to work effectively with teams across the organization. This position deals with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities:

• Builds and maintains positive relationships with all customers, associates, physicians, patients, vendors, and visitors.
• Supports the monitoring of key operational metrics and contributes to early identification of deviations from One CHRISTUS standards.
• Assists in analyzing operational and process data, converting findings into actionable insights and recommendations under the guidance of senior team members.
• Participates in conducting gap analyses to identify performance risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Supports root cause investigations and contributes to corrective action planning to realign operations with established standards.
• Assists in applying Lean principles to identify efficiency opportunities and reduce waste in operational processes.
• Prepares and updates documents, diagrams, and presentations to illustrate findings and recommendations.
• Collaborates with other PET members, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to support improvement initiatives.
• Researches emerging operational and business best practices to inform continuous improvement efforts.
• Tracks and reports basic performance metrics, providing feedback to project leads.
• Participates in special projects and performs other job duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook
• Ability to work full-time in a hospital, clinic, or office environment
• Ability to work with all levels of associates across the organization
• Excellent teaching, speaking and interpersonal communication skills
• Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus.

Experience

• 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Preferred experience in healthcare setting

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• None required

In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
