POSITION TITLE: Provides administrative support to the Patient Finance Director. Provides cashier services to all Patient Access and Customer Service areas. Reconciles receipts against patient payments, checks, credit cards, and cash. Responsible for the safe keeping of large amounts of cash and sole access to department safe in preparation of daily cash deposit. Maintains adequate amounts of change for all hospital departments. Responsible for petty cash fund and disbursing to departments with required documentation according to policy. Prepares cash/change order and submits for approval to replenish petty cash fund monthly and or as needed. Provides all general office management functions including filing, copying, data collection, faxing, reception, drafting correspondence, requesting maintenance of credit card terminals, equipment and banking supplies, maintains records related to accounts payable, audit and approval. Responsible for random audits of all cash drawers in various patient access areas and required to report any cash discrepancy’s immediately.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license. BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hire date. All other required certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. If nurse has the required certifications at time of hire, they must maintain the certifications and will not have a grace period to renew. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations, prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and walking. Requires heavy physical effort to position, push and/or transfer patients or equipment and supplies. Requires considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Ability to judge distance and space relationships, see peripherally, distinguish and identify different colors. Hearing and visual acuity within normal or correctable limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.
