Patient Transporter - Transporters in Longview, TX

Summary:

To provide basic patient care to specified patients under the direction of a licensed nurse and in conformance with hospital policy and procedure.

Responsibilities:

• Organize, prioritize, and utilize time to maximize productivity.
• Demonstrates knowledge and provides care for the orthopedic patient.
• Observe and report unusual changes in patient conditions.
• Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
• Assumes responsibility for maintaining own educational requirements and professional development.
• Practices safety measures and communicates risk management issues to the appropriate individual.
• Utilizes effective communication skills.
• Practices effective cost containment measures.
• Responsible and accountable for professional conduct.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate (or equivalent).
• A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• BLS required. 
• CPR.
• Computer literacy is desired.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others.
• Ability to comply with all GSMC policies and procedures that are job-related and consistent with business necessity.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide competent care as appropriate to the ages of the patients served by this position.
