PA/ Physician Assistant/NP, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Beaumont, TX

We’re seeking a full-time NP/PA with a minimum of two or more years of experience in inpatient or outpatient care. The best candidate will have experience in cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery; however, it is not required. The provider will be responsible for obtaining an accurate medical history, performing appropriate examinations (cardiac and vascular patients), ordering laboratory and radiologic testing if needed, while under the direction and supervision of the Cardiovascular surgeons.

Cardiothoracic Service Line:

(1) Medical Director

(1) Vascular Surgeon

(1) Part-time Vascular Surgeon

(1) Nurse Practitioner

Position Details:

Inpatient Rounding – Cardiothoracic APC will handle consults, allowing the surgeon to focus on surgeries.

The inpatient APC also takes first call for on-call physicians, handles patient rounding, in-basket messages, and documentation notes, manages orders, and adjusts treatment plans per the physician. 

Call Schedule – Rotating call schedule with additional NP (2 weekends a month)

Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, cath lab team, critical care departments, and multidisciplinary teams.

Assist with pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care

Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Coordinate with the clinic staff regarding follow-up appointments and surgery scheduling.

Practice Highlights:

Monday through Friday

8-hour workday schedule

Patient volume – 10 to 15 patients per week

Qualifications:

Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

Previous cardiothoracic or surgical experience preferred but not required

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently in a high-acuity setting

Minimum of two years as an NP/PA in inpatient or outpatient care.
