NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - General Surgery in San Antonio, TX

Job Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient General Surgery team in San Antonio, TX. This position is primarily clinic-based, focusing on the evaluation and management of surgical patients in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an APP looking to establish a long-term role within a growing surgical program. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care for general surgery patients, including new patient evaluations and follow-up visits

• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient management

• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team

• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies

• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery expectations

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

• Previous surgical or outpatient specialty experience preferred

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a clinic setting

• Interest in long-term growth within a surgical specialty

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Primarily outpatient role with flexibility based on provider interest
