NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - Athens GI/Gastroenterology in Athens, TX

Job Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team in Athens, TX. This is a full-time, outpatient-based position focused on providing comprehensive GI care in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in gastroenterology or another medical subspecialty and be comfortable managing patients independently in a clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations, follow-ups, and consultations in an outpatient GI clinic

• Manage a range of gastrointestinal conditions under the supervision of the gastroenterologist

• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and endoscopy results

• Provide pre- and post-procedure education and continuity of care

• Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist, nursing, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation within the EMR system

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas

• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

• Previous gastroenterology or internal medicine experience preferred

• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule
