Summary:
Continually monitors the EKG waveform displays in a centralized telemetry monitoring station. Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol. Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition.
The Monitor Tech is responsible for constant electro-cardiographic monitoring with rapid, accurate notification of questionable patterns, and provides accurate documentation of information obtained from the cardiac monitoring equipment. The Monitor Tech is also responsible for assuring equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
