Mental Health Technician - IMC Psych Adult in Alexandria, LA

Summary:

Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and assists patients with daily living activities. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients. Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens. Attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of a licensed nurse, performs various service-related activities in support of patient care and the patient care unit
• Responsible for direct and indirect care to assigned patients, primarily focusing on hygiene activities of daily living, vital signs, and recreational activities

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required. 
• 6 months of Healthcare Experience.
  
• De-Escalation Certification or completion within 90 days of employment and recertified annually.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
