Summary:
The Program Manager of Risk Management is responsible for supporting the occupational health coverage programs systemwide, including worker's compensation and the nonsubscriber program in Texas. The Program Manager will work with other team members to help and assist with the Claims management, the Plan Administrator to manage the programs, and the Emergency Management team members as needed to learn and assist in other risk functions.
Responsibilities:
• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Administer Worker's Compensation programs in Louisiana and New Mexico.
• Administer nonsubscriber program in Texas, ensuring compliance with ERISA regulations.
• Collaborate with the Program Administrator or designee to support the management of the Texas nonsubscriber program, including collaboration with Third Party Administration claim management and Medical Director.
• Guide the Worker's Compensation TPA and, at times, internal team members in administering the Worker's Compensation Program.
• Coordinate with the Program Administrator to conduct specific claims reviews as appropriate.
• Enter and update events and claims in the database for Occupational Injury programs
• Serves as a resource to assist Associate Health Nurses/Occupational Health Nurses in the regions to identify risks and trends.
• Learning and education regarding workers' compensation regulations systemwide will commence and be ongoing.
• Manages required documents for submission to State Workers' Compensation and nonsubscriber programs.
• Provide support to the regions in submitting required reports to Federal regulators, such as OSHA and the Department of Labor, in coordination with guidance from legal team members.
• With the partnership of other team leadership, support compliance with all State and Federal regulations, with support from outside vendors as appropriate.
• Assist and support the System Office Floor Warden Program.
• Maintain reviews of the Emergency Management team, including supporting and learning the negotiation, preparation, and maintenance of certain Master Service Agreements (MSA) with remediation vendors, power sources, water delivery, and fuel services annually.
• Responsible for coordinating and developing the CHRISTUS Health System Emergency Operation Plans.
• Assist with the Corporate Emergency Operation Center (EOC),
• Organize the CHRISTUS Health Hazard Vulnerability Assessments (HVA) annual assessments and interpret the impact of the CHRISTUS Health emergency management program.
• Participate in recovery efforts following property damage/losses.
