Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Float Pool - Full time at CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana

Summary:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills in the care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental polices and in accordance with standards of nursing practice. 

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills

Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse program

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of scope and role of the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, CNA and Unit Secretary

B. Experience

2 years of LPN experience

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

American Heart Association Basic Life Support 

Current LPN license from the state of Louisiana

Current de-escalation training or completion within 90 days of employment with annual recertification

Arrhythmia recognition within 8 weeks of hire

Current NIHSS certification at time of hire or within 90 days of hire for experienced LPNs
