Cook - Senior at CHRISTUS Ministry System Office

Please note that this position is with the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at Villa de Matel Center located in Houston, Texas. The Villa de Matel Center is the home for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. It is also used as a central gathering place for the Sisters and their ministries, a retirement center for the Sisters and a retreat center for the public. Summary

The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items including meals, baking and any other items as determined by the needs of the Sisters, other customers/visitors and special function schedule. The Cook determines the presentation and the schedule for delivering meals and refreshments to ensure that high standards for presentation and food temperatures are maintained. The Cook collaborates with the Director and others to ensure the dietary needs of the Sisters and other customers are satisfied.

Requirements

A. Education/Skills

· High School diploma or equivalent

B. Experience

· Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years cooking/baking experience in hotel/restaurant/institutional settings

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

· Food Handlers Certificate (can obtain once hired)

· Texas Driver's License

· A cook and/or bakers' certificate, preferred

Work Type: Full-time

The schedule varies with weekend work required on a rotating basis.
