Echocardiography Technical Supervisor Per Diem in Santa Fe, NM

Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients and acts as the Echo Department's Technical Supervisor per the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines for accreditation.

Requirements

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Two-year allied health education program that is patient care related.  Allied health occupations include but are not limited to:  diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred.

Certification/Licenses:  Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) for a minimum of 5 years.  BLS certification issued through the American Hearth Association within six months of hire.

Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrates strong organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively with others from a variety of disciplines, ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions, manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms.

Experience:  Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.

Nature of Supervision:  Responsible to Director of Cardiovascular Services

Environment:  Bloodborne pathogen C; may be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens.  Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements:  Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
