Ultrasound Vascular Tech Job in Tyler
Performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the vascular ultrasound field. Must be able to recognize critical preliminary results and notify the physician. Responsible for the quality of vascular exams performed in order to assure a high level of acceptability of images. Works under general supervision but also able to work independently. Must maintain a healthy working environment and communicate effectively with coworkers and physicians.
Vein Center- We are a complete vein clinic and the procedures performed include venous ablations, phlebectomy, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, surface sclerotherapy and wound care. The primary responsibility of the technologist would be to perform venous duplex studies of the deep and superficial systems. They would also be trained and required to assist the physicians during the ultrasound guided procedures. The technologist must have an interest in learning and participation in advanced venous exams and treatment. Prior venous ultrasound and sterile technique experience preferred. The main responsibility of the technologist will be to perform venous studies.
Vascular -The technologist must identify normal vascular findings and deviations produced by a wide variety of cardiovascular disease and record anomalies indicative of diseases, injuries and other medically significant conditions from ultrasound imaging. Multiple duplex scans such as carotids, venous and arterial (upper and lower extremities), renal arteries, abdominal aorta and ABIs are performed by the technologist.
Patient Care- Must confirm patient identity verbally by patient name and date of birth and visually by verifying patient’s medical armband. Responsible for explaining exams prior to study. Must be able to recognize and assist patients with needs such as disabilities and impaired mobility prior to and following exam. Excellent patient care is a must.
- Completion of clinical and classroom Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and the optional vascular program is required.
- Must be eligible for ARDMS credentials and required to obtain (within 1 year of employment) and maintain RVT status. Current RVT credentials preferred.
