The Manager of Nurse Leadership Development oversees the design, implementation, and coordination of CHRISTUS Health's clinical leadership development programs consistent with the ministry's business strategies, mission, and core values. He or she researches best practices with regard to clinical leadership development strategies, and provides recommendations to the CMO, CNO, and Talent Management Center of Excellence (COE) Leadership Team. This individual utilizes effective data analysis to assess trends in leadership performance and determines effectiveness of development strategies. Lastly, the individual effectively collaborates with other key business stakeholders and L&D peers to ensure continued support for clinical leadership development initiatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding external research conducted on Leadership Development to determine industry best practices.
  • Partner with System Director of Learning & Development to design a comprehensive Nurse Leadership Development strategy and roadmap that aligns with CHRISTUS strategy and leadership competencies.
  • Partner with and advise the System Director of Learning & Development, HR leadership,
  • and other stakeholders with respect to issues and needs within nurse Leadership Development
  • Collaborate with ministry Nursing Leadership and executives to conduct ongoing needs analyses to determine Nurse Leadership Development needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical education teams, Learning & Development Managers, and consultants when designing and implementing programs
  • Uses data to recommend development programs consistent with business realities
  • Design robust nurse leadership development curricula to address development needs at all levels of leadership at CHRISTUS Health -- frontline to executives.
  • Establish metrics and processes to evaluate success of implemented programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as key point of contact with key vendor partners connected to nurse leadership development programs.
  • Develops and implements established communication strategies to engage leaders in their development.
  • Leverage available technologies to deliver education to Leaders.
  • Assists in the consultation and coaching of leaders.

General Leadership

  • Management of nurse leadership development policies, programs, process development and continuous improvement.
  • Lead researching and communicating to the company point of view in leadership development
  • Maintain subject-area expertise and assure quality of policy/program design
  • Ensure that the work performed and the services provided are consistent with the required quality levels and established standards and metrics
  • Guide team members and manage their performance and development
  • Maintain a high level of team engagement
  • Keep team members informed of the team's overall direction, strategy and goals
  • Ensuring stakeholder participation and involvement
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree in nursing, clinical education, education, healthcare administration, organizational development, or industrial/organizational psychology highly preferred.
  • RN License highly preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in the design and deliver of leadership development strategies registered nurse leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with leaders at different levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in getting things done through networking and collaboration in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Previous experience in nurse leadership role preferred
  • Knowledge of content area including theory, methods and concepts. Ability to transform theory, methods, and concepts into understandable, tangible designs and measurable results.
  • Coaching certification from International Coach Federation or an Accredited Coach Training Program preferred
