Surgical First Assistant, Surg General - Full time Job in Lake Charles

Job Description

Summary:

The First Assistant is responsible for assisting the surgeon in performance of the surgical procedure.

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills

· 1. (RN only) Graduate of an accredited nursing program required, BSN preferred.

· 2. (RN/LPN only) Current LA nursing license.

B. Experience

3 years Operating Room Experience preferred.

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

· 1. Current Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.

· 2. Documented completion of an approved first assisting course required, certification (CRNFA, or CFA) preferred. 

3. BLS completed, ACLS preferred.
