The Position Control Specialist maintains the position control process across the enterprise within the Workforce Management Center of Excellence.Supports enterprise position requests, following policies and procedures established by CHRISTUS leadership. The Specialist works closely across multiple departments regarding requests and changes to positions, verifying various types of budgetary and organizational information for accuracy and compliance.

  • Reviews and processes requests for new and changes to Position request data received from business in a timely manner; notifies departments of approvals
  • Analyzes and calculates the cost and impact of mass changes or re-org request received and works with business and leadership through governance process
  • Works within budgetary and allocation guidelines to insure department positions align with department budgets
  • Audits position and work assignment data, reports on findings
  • Resolves all escalated inquiries in line with agreed SLAs
  • Knowledge of hospital and healthcare positions and departments
  • Performs a variety of technical duties concerning position control tracking and management including the preparation/posting of related budget and accounting documents
  • Makes mathematical and statistical calculations quickly and accurately
  • Maintains complex and confidential records and files
  • Works confidentially with discretion
  • Understanding of staffing and organizational structure
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and ensure accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of prior position management experience, preferably in comparable sized organization via HCM or Budget application
  • Experience with Infor GHR software or comparable HR systems preferred
