Summary:

2 South is a 24 bed MedSurg Unit fed predominantly by Day Surgery. In this fast-paced environment, nurses care for post-operative urology, gynecology, plastics, and ortho patients to name a few. We also care for patients admitted through our emergency department suffering from both acute and chronic illnesses. The day surgery patient care is fast-paced with the goal of safely discharging patients home, while the medical patients often stay longer and take more meticulous care. 2 South is a unique and growing MedSurg Unit that provides all patients with fantastic care and empowers patients and family members with knowledge regarding their care and diagnosis. 

Requirements:

Graduate of an RN program

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Knowledge of scope and role of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Mental Health Technician, Patient Care Technician and Unit Clerk

Valid Registered Nurse license within the state of Louisiana;

American Heart Association Basic Life Support
