Summary:

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction.

The RN, Registered Nurse Emergency Department is a vital leader of an interdisciplinary team assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care in efforts to deliver the highest levels of care to the patient and family. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health St. Patrick Health System, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values. Our Emergency Department unit at CHRISTUS Health St. Patrick Health System is a 16-bed emergency room with two rapid medical assessment rooms. The Emergency Department provides stabilizing care to patients with life-threatening or potential life-threatening emergencies.

Requirements:

Graduate of an RN program

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Knowledge of scope and role of the Registered Nurse, Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician and Unit Clerk

At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred   

Valid Registered Nurse license to practice within the state of Louisiana

American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support NIHSS required
