RN, Registered Charge Nurse: General Surgery Job in Tyler
The OR Charge Nurse is responsible for collaborating with Team Leaders/Peri Operative Manager/Director of Peri Operative Services regarding managing , planning, organizing, and facilitating the daily activities related to patient flow through the procedural area and throughout the continuum of care using critical thinking skills. The Peri Operative Charge Nurse will ensure the optimal, effective, and efficient flow of patients in a safe manner and provide high quality service for the Peri Operative patient. The Peri Operative Charge Nurse serves as a role model by providing leadership which fosters positive attitudes and change as well as supporting hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
The OR Charge Nurse functions in the circulating and/or scrub role in the Operating Room. In this role, the RN designs, coordinates and delivers care to meet the needs of the patient undergoing the operative procedure. The OR charge nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, intervenes and evaluates the outcome of surgical intervention. The OR charge nurse addresses physiological, sociocultural and spiritual responses of the individual undergoing a surgical procedure. The OR charge nurse supervises ancillary personnel involved in the care of the surgical patient.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Minimum requirement is an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Must be licensed as Registered Nurse with the State of Texas
- 1 - 2 years RN experience in a Surgery setting and a strong desire to work in the surgery circulating role is preferred
- CPR Certification through the American Heart Associate or American Red Cross
Full Time: Monday-Thursday (8:30PM-7 AM)
