Summary:

Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area and the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • Three-years experience in nursing speciality care area preferred.
  • Med Surg Units:
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Current Texas State RN License
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
  • Step Down Units (A5, A6, A7, A8 and A9):
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Current Texas State RN License
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date
  • Unit Specific Requirements
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
  • EKG required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
  • ICU Units (A3, A4, CVICU, ICU/MICU 3, Trauma ICU):
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Current Texas State RN License
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date
  • Unit Specific Requirements
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date (Not required for Trauma ICU)
  • EKG required within 90 days of hire/transfer date (Not required for Trauma ICU)
  • TNCC required within 18 months of hire/transfer date (Trauma ICU only)
  • ENPC or PALS required within 18 months of hire/transfer date (Trauma ICU only)
