Nurse Extern I - Winter 2023 Program Job in Lake Charles

Summary:

Join our Extern I program and have the opportunity to work AND learn by shadowing front line staff. In this program, you will gain valuable hospital experience rotating through different units while receiving a generous hourly compensation. This is for RN students that are NOT in hospital clinicals yet. 

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Clinical Director or other designated management the Nurse Extern I perform various direct patient care activities in accordance with the Nursing Department policies and procedures. The Nurse Extern I is able to assist with the care of hospitalized patients. The Nurse Extern I may be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital/department policies, procedures, and protocols.

Interviews: begin mid/end of September 

Start Date: Monday, November 20th

Requirements:

a. Currently enrolled in a nursing program to obtain either an associate degree or bachelor’s degree to become a registered nurse.

b. Proficient in basic nursing tasks.

c. Provides updated transcript at beginning of semester.

d. AHA BLS required within 2 weeks of employment.
