Job Description


Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing MRI Scans for diagnostic purposes and for providing patient services using applicable imaging modalities. This position is also responsible to maintain the equipment QA as recommended by manufacture. Assists the Manager with planning, organizing, staffing, supplying and supervising area in Radiology as directed. Must always maintain a posture of leadership, cooperation in interacting with peers, staff, visitors, patients and physicians.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos, which originated in 1923 as Hays County Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Memorial Hospital, opened at its current Wonder World Drive location in 1983. Our staff of more than 700 Associates works with more than 300 active and consulting physicians to provide quality services to patients and their families. In addition to interventional cardiac services, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos is a Certified Chest Pain Center and an accredited Primary Stroke Center. We lead the region in da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery and offers a variety of specialty care services including medical imaging, rehabilitation, hospice, women’s services and more.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
  • Advance MRI registry with the ARRT preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as MRI Technologist required
  • 1 to 2 years of experience previously as a lead technologist or a position similar to that of a lead technologist at another institution preferred
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists required
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required MRI registered preferred
