LPN, Renal Stroke - Full Time Job in Lake Charles

Summary:

The Licensed Practical assists the Registered Nurse in the delivery of patient care. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the LPN is responsible for administering direct patient care, treatments as ordered by the physician and administering medications as outlined by hospital policy and procedure.

Unit 31 is a 32-bed acute medical surgical unit specializing in renal, stroke and urology patients. Our average daily census is 24-27 patients. We provide care for chronic and acute renal disease patients, many of whom have comorbid conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and infectious wounds. We also care for the acute stroke patient population once they are stabilized enough to leave our ICU. Unit 31 serves a patient population ranging from the young adult to the geriatric. Our goal is to provide exemplary care utilizing evidence-based practice and providing thorough discharge teaching to prevent/delay subsequent hospitalizations. Our team works well together and loves our Mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to our patients.

Requirements:

Graduate of a Practical School of Nursing or equivalent

Six (6) months experience preferred

Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana - upon hire

BLS - upon hire

ACLS - within 6 months of hire

Weekend:$2.50/hr 

Evening:7p-11p + $2.75/hr added on base rate 

Night:11p-7a +$3.50/hr added on base rate
