Performs the function of a Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in planning and implementing nursing care for patients as assigned. Is responsible for adhering to all Standards of Nursing Practice, as they apply for managing supplies and equipment under the direction of the charge nurse.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Observes the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, high risk and discharge needs of the patient and family. · Performs, observations/care at intervals as required or appropriate to the patient's needs. · Ensures physical observations/care includes all major body systems. · Ensures spiritual observations/care includes actual/expressed needs. · Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into observation/care. 2. Demonstrates the ability to accurately observe and document patient care activities and hospital processes. · Uses computer system(s) appropriately. · Documents in the medical record according to policy/procedure. · Complies with incident reporting and notification requirements.
