Summary:

The Physical Therapist’s Assistant has the responsibility and accountability for implementing care for patients referred for Physical Therapy according to the plan of care established by a Physical Therapist. Physical Therapist’s Assistant is responsible for adhering to all standards of the Physical Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providing therapy care, supplies, equipment and education for the patient population.

According to department’s Scope of Practice, this position requires providing services to the general population, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the physical development and functional needs of the individuals served, and clear knowledge of functional performance. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. 

Requirements:

• Physical rehabilitation experience preferred
• Current Louisiana PTA License
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
