Summary:

The Laboratory Supervisor works under the supervision of the Laboratory Director or Manager; supervises the assigned section of the Laboratory Department. Activities are performed both independently and after consultation and approval of the Manager or Administrative Laboratory Director, and Medical Director. These activities are performed in order to provide the best possible diagnostic service to the physician and patient. Maintains CAP, CLIA, and TJC accrediting standards. Assures that staff performs procedures to age specific standards as associated with job-related policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree for clinical lab – MT/CLS preferred 
• Minimum of 5 years in Clinical Laboratory with 1 year specific to designated section
• Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience preferred but not required
• Cerner Lab Information Systems (LIS) knowledge preferred
• ASCP certified MT, CLS, or MLT or equivalent
