Under the supervision of the manager, the developer is responsible for supporting the organization’s needs by implementing data management, reporting, and analytics solutions. The individual will participate in gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying data sources and data elements, developing queries, data integrations, and Business Intelligence components, and delivering solutions. The individual will also be involved in data and report interpretation and the design and implementation of data warehouses, dashboards, scorecards, and interactive reports.

  • Meets with business owners to gather and document business needs and requirements
  • Implements data integration and business intelligence solutions that adhere to the organization’s internal standards and industry best practices
  • Analyzes information delivered to identify trends, issues, or interesting findings
  • Ensures maintenance of adequate software and reporting documentation and adheres to change control processes; analyzes vendor release notes for opportunities and impacts on reporting functionality
  • Works with Application Coordinators/Analysts and with Information Services to gain access to necessary data sets, data marts, data cubes and databases needed for data mining and reporting
  • Provides onsite or phone support to operational users, working days, evenings, and nights, as needed
  • Manages small to medium report development projects
  • Discusses and participates in the strategic plans for customers and/or departments assigned
  • Participates in analyzing, choosing, and implementing technology strategies to satisfy customer needs
  • Maintains vendor relationships as appropriate
  • Develops and delivers training for analytics solutions
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Certification in at least one Epic data model
  • Application certification from vendor achieved within 6 months of hiring
  • 0-3 years of experience in database and programming
  • 0-3 years of in-depth knowledge in SQL, familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Advanced Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and Word, must be able to present complex data in meaningful ways
  • Reporting tools (for example: Crystal, WebI, SSRS, Tableau, MicroStrategy), SSIS, Hadoop
  • Ability to interact with business users of all levels and translate business requirements into technical specifications, excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical and business solution concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences from a business perspective
  • Ability to adapt to and effectively perform work functions in emergency and high stress situations
