Manages several business office operations including the billing and collection of patient accounts, preparation of insurance claims, admissions, etc. Formulates policies and procedures according to organization standards and legal requirements.


• Articulate, communicate and implement the corporate information systems strategy

• Develop and initiate plans, projects, budgets, priorities, and operational activities to meet the organization's business, clinical and community goals

• Direct the planning, prioritization, management and scheduling of all information systems and telecommunications projects activities and assignments

• Direct the preparation of information systems operating expenses and capital budgets

• Approve and administer these budgets and report regularly on budget status

• Develop and manage routine tracking and reporting mechanisms to provide ongoing status of budget performance

• Direct the planning, prioritization, management and scheduling business processes, budgeting, and business office operations

• Enforce accounting department policies, procedures and standards

• Establish working relationship with CHRISTUS financial teams

• Recruit, train, motivate, evaluate and retain a staff of highly skilled information systems professionals

• Provide ongoing leadership and motivation to ensure that the staff is focused committed and capable of producing expected results

• Create and maintain a teamwork environment conducive to productive output, successful staff advancement and a rewarding work experience

• Communicate, orally and in writing, with all staff levels to provide understanding and ownership of departmental and corporate objectives

• Establish and enforce department policies, procedures and standards

• Coordinate corporate-wide information management strategy, budgeting, quality improvement efforts, projects, communication and public relations

• Provide effective oral and written communications to staff to facilitate understanding, ownership and accomplishment of project goals and objectives

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, possess good negotiating skills and promote teamwork among subordinates


  • Bachelor degree, business related preferred or equivalent hospital leadership experience required. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience
  • Hospital business office or Hospital patient registration experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years in patient registration to include:
    • Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient scheduling
    • Pre-registration
    • Financial Counseling
    • Admitting
    • Up front Collections
