Manages the nursing services and staff for the  inpatient Rehab department; ensures quality and full compliance with relevant policies and standards.

Major Responsibilities

• Implementing and monitoring programs and practices for the delivery of safe and efficient quality practice for referral and admissions process into the rehabilitation hospital

• Ensures consistent application of policies and standards throughout the department and organization

• Monitors the referral and admission process for quality and effectiveness

• Oversees the performance of the admissions, referral and marketing teams within the inpatient rehab setting; identifies and addresses staff training and development needs on an ongoing basis

Standard I: Financial Management

• Apprises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to the admissions, referral or marketing services as needed

• Recognizes the impact of reimbursement on revenue

• Understands the relationship between values-based purchasing and quality outcomes with revenue and reimbursement

• Creates, monitors, and analyzes a budget; explaining variance

• Conducts ongoing evaluation of productivity, forecasting future revenue and expenses

• Documents capital appropriations and project authorizations

• Initiates requests for required resources based on staff competency and department needs

A. Education

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelors of Science in Nursing required

· Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related advanced degree in health related field preferred

B. Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting,  inpatient rehab experience required

• Minimum of 2 years’ of healthcare leadership

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

· RN license in good standing in state of employment or a compact state , if applicable

· Registered Nurse (RN) required

· American Heart Association Basic Life Support
