Certified Nurse Assistant - A6 Cardiac/Tele PCU Job in Corpus Christi

Summary:

Duties and responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, changing bed linens, transporting patients, assisting patients in ambulating, delivering food trays, general cleaning and supply distribution, and providing activities for daily living to include bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with personal hygiene. This position may include other duties as assigned.

A6 is a 27-bed Acute Cardiac Progressive Care Unit with quick patient turnover. We provide care for cardiac patients who have undergone a cardiac intervention from the cath lab which includes stent placement, pacemaker placement, and diagnostic angiograms. We also care for the patients who have chosen to undergo Watchman and Mitraclip procedures. We manage the patients with congestive heart failure, NSTEMI, STEMI, pre CABG, and peripheral vascular occlusions. We do have patients with Cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dobutrex, Primacore, and also take overflow patients from the ER with a Med Surg status. Our ratios consist of 1:3-1:5 based on acuity of the patient. We have a strong working relationship with our cardiologists and hospitalists. A6 has a dedicated team that is known for delivering exceptional high quality patient care together with outstanding customer service.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills and computer literacy is required. Previous experience as a Nurse Assistant in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current Texas CNA Certification
• CPR (American Heart Association)
• If Associate has graduated from an accredited nursing program (RN) the certification is waived for the first seven months.
