Summary:
Under the direction of the Leave and Health & Welfare Manager, this position provides direct support to individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Conducts disability eligibility analyses, provides referrals, and approves reasonable accommodations. Ensure proper documentation on all interactions and modification decisions.
- Leads the end to end process of finding workplace accommodations working with external and internal stakeholders prioritizing risk mitigation and a positive customer experience. Identifies, researches and collaborates on reasonable accommodations, and implementing those accommodations and re-evaluating as necessary.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on the accommodation process as well as state and federal disability laws. Keep updated on legislation and national, state and local issues affecting access for Associates with disabilities. Document and maintain up-to-date case records and notes of appropriate and accurate information.
- Responds directly to requests and collaborates with HR Director, Risk, Legal, senior benefits staff and other stakeholders as needed.
- Provides proactive customer service support to internal and external customers.
- Provides information, recommendations, and assistance to Associates with medical conditions or impairments across the system, as well as managers, Human Resources, and other partners and vendors.
- Develops and implements system-wide program process guide
- Assist with Return to Work process Maintains and protects the confidentiality of client information at all times; enforces Associates' rights regarding privacy, personal property, and grievances.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Processes and administers all system-wide leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Monitors and manages caseload developments while communicating regularly with Associates
- Engages with external candidates, where appropriate, during the application and hiring process to address ADA-related questions and implementing reasonable ADA accommodations.
- Assists the system-wide operation teams with orientation and onboarding of new Associates through the development and enhancement of tools and resources to facilitate the implementation of processes and procedures to improve the new hire experience All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business experience
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while also prioritizing a diverse workload.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office software.
- Strong working knowledge of Federal and State requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in working in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities.
- 4 + years of related work experience with at least one year specifically in benefits.
- ADA/Leave Management Certification
