Hearing Technician - LDRPN in Santa Fe, NM

Summary:

Responsible for performing hearing screenings on newborns and recording results in the patient's chart. Tracks data, maintains equipment, and orders supplies as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

• Perform newborn hearing screenings for the nursery and NICU
• Hearing screenings must be performed within the first 48 hours of birth
• Tech must follow all hospital rules and guidelines and be team players in the unit
• Tech will provide emotional and mental support to the parents, especially if the newborn has an abnormal hearing screening
• Tech should be extremely careful while taking care of the babies and performing the hearing screenings
• Tech will maintain all required registries and necessary reporting, and will arrange for appropriate referrals as hearing screenings necessitate

Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma
• BLS certification required.
