POSITION SUMMARY: While primarily responsible for carrying out essential job functions within waste segregation, this position will also be responsible for rounding on Tech I and Tech II team members to ensure areas and projects are being maintained and completed.  Moreover, this position will report to the manager’s and act as an extension of their supervisory roles.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:  Valid New Mexico Driver’s License preferred

SKILLS:  Must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of housekeeping experience that includes 1 year of charge phone responsibility.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

-Responsible to:  EVS Director and Assistant Directors

ENVIRONMENT:

-Bloodborne pathogen A: 

Areas include any and all patient care units, ancillary areas, support areas, public and office areas.  Work for the most part is inside, however, outside work cleaning entry ways or windows does occur.  Consistent exposure to cleaning chemicals is part of the requirement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  An individual performing this work can expect and be able to stoop, bend, stand and use gross motor skills for long periods.  The person must be able to use a 16 to 24 ounce “wet” mop and push and pull carts and other equipment (furniture, mattresses, etc.).  Ability to move around to all areas of the hospital.  Ability to climb a ladder. May be required to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
