The CCVI Wellness Coordinator assists the CCVI Wellness Supervisor and Director of Health & Wellness in providing supportive care to The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. The Wellness Coordinator represents the Office of Health and Wellness in a professional manner and provides overall support in maintaining the health needs of the Sisters. The Wellness Coordinator recognizes that and individuals health and wellness is all encompassing and includes physical, social, spiritual, and emotional components.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists individual Sisters who have requested support services or who have been identified as needing additional assistance with health care or other related services
  • Assists Sisters in communication with health care personnel including primary physicians
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times; maintains professional boundaries in relationships with the Sisters
  • Ability to provide direct personal care for the Sisters such as activities of daily living, light exercise, focused / therapeutic conversation, light meal preparation, meal delivery, non-invasive therapeutic therapy such as application of hot / cold packs, topical preparations, etc)
  • Recognizes the limitations and boundaries of providing health care inherent in this position
  • Maintains a log of all therapeutic interactions with the Sisters and provides update to the Wellness Supervisor and / or Director of Health and Wellness as required
  • Notifies Wellness Supervisor or Director of Health and Wellness of situations requiring immediate attention to any significant change in Sister's health status
  • Ability to drive and accompany Sisters to appointments
  • Ability to accommodate and adjust to changes in duties and responsibilities to meet the needs of the Sisters
A. Education/Skills
  • High School Diploma Required

B. Experience

  • Some experience as a caregiver preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective communication skills (listening, verbal, written)
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • CPR Certification Preferred
