The Vice President, Emergency service is responsible for the administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of the functions and activities emergency and supporting ancillary departments of CHRISTUS Health South Texas and The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. The VP will assure operational objectives and results are aligned with the overall needs and strategic plan of the Market.

The Vice President, Emergency service will work with the regional leadership teams and in coordination with CHRISTUS Health in ongoing management of the regional strategic plans. The VP is accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our patients, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.

This position consistently supports compliance and the code of conduct by maintaining confidentiality, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements.

  • Advanced degree in business administration, business development, marketing or related field.
  • Understanding of the health care delivery environment a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and operational responsibility in a large/complex customer oriented service and retail environment.
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications, reports preparation, business communications and policy and procedure development.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with other key providers and care givers. Understanding of physicians and physician environments a potential advantage.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Demonstrated excellent in customer service and customer satisfaction and the ability to maintain high Associate engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ability to successfully apply new learning to achieve expected outcomes
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation, facilitation, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial operations and ability to meet/exceed financial expectation on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to work with mathematical concepts for the purpose of financial budgeting, reporting and analysis


  • A minimum of 7 years recent executive leadership in a service oriented, customer centric retail environment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate multi-year leadership responsibility and delivery of successful metric in a growing, complex and successful ventures.
  • Leadership in Emergency operations a must with a track record of significant involvement in financial operations and business development
