The Chief Financial Officer provides financial management information and guidance to the multiple complex operational divisions including senior leadership teams; serves as a member of the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic (CTC) administrative team. Primary overarching duties include pursuit of orderly growth opportunities; performance measurement; identification and control of business risks; and increase of the value of the ministry across all venues involved. Has responsibility and oversight of financial standards, policies and procedures for CTC and provides strategic direction to the financial resource teams in non-homogeneous operational divisions, spanning complex regulatory and reimbursement environments. Consults with and advises the Chief Administrative Officer on constant performance improvement initiatives in areas of financial management and forecasting. Collaborates with other leaders throughout the health system to promote seamless sharing of infrastructures, policies and financial practices across operational divisions to avoid duplication/waste/cost and to optimize all resources engaged. Develops strategic project plans which identify key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources required to ensure highly reliable financial practice and desired budgetary outcomes. Responsible for training and educating Associates in the finance, compensation, and training departments to work in high performance work groups and motivates team members and cultivates team accountability.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in providing financial leadership in a health care delivery system with at least five years in executive level.
  • Management of financial systems in multiple states.
  • Demonstrated success in managing the financial functions (financial and statistical reporting, operations analyses, planning, forecasting, integrity and contracting) required to support the growth of a large, complex integrated delivery system (IDS.)
  • Demonstrated strength in financial management to include financial planning, managed care contracting, financial and statistical reporting, operations analysis and implementation of processes to ensure achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement systems which address costs, quality, regulatory requirements, and resource utilization management; a knowledge of the operational issues and challenges which must be addressed in running a managed care responsive health care organization.
  • Agility in forecasting potential legislated changes upon reimbursement and revenue outcomes.
  • A history of innovation in organization development, team development, and in determining solutions to support a user driven environment.
  • Strong negotiation ability in complex situations and problem resolutions.

 Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant credentials preferred.
