Under the direction of the Director of Perioperative Services, this position is responsible for the administration of sterile processing including: quality of decontamination, cleaning & sterilization of surgical instruments, reprocess-able equipment and supplies in the hospital. Is also responsible for functional coordination of the department with other departments and outside resources.
A. Education/Skills
- High School graduate or equivalent required. Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Will accept experience in lieu of college.
B. Expertise
- Eight years experience in sterile processing, supply inventory and/or equipment control is required.
- Five years of supervisory experience is required.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- One of three required: American Hospital Association, National Institute of Sterile Processing Distribution Technician, International Association of Hospital Central Service Management.
- CPR Required.
