Summary:

The Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit is a 25-bed unit. This unit provides psychiatric treatment for adults (18 years and older) and older adult patients (55 and above) that are exhibiting acute psychiatric conditions who require 24-hour inpatient treatment. The Behavioral Health RN is part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional’s that provide individualized care to each patient with a primary objective of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of each patient in a therapeutic environment that fosters positive change. 

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction.

Requirements:

Graduate of an RN program

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Knowledge of scope and role of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Mental Health Technician, Patient Care Technician and Unit Clerk

Two (2) years experience in psychiatric nursing preferred

Valid Registered Nurse license within the state of Louisiana;

American Heart Association Basic Life Support
