Apply Now Point of Care Coordinator FT/40HRS Job in Santa Fe

Monitors and implements POCT program established under the Laboratory POCT CLIA license; ensures that this Program complies with regulatory agency standards; serves as a resource for other departments holding CLIA licenses. In conjunction with nursing, trains staff performing POCT and monitors POCT procedures; reviews and evaluates all requests for POCT procedures and equipment. Works with the hospital owned clinics and their POC programs. Provides consulting expertise for implementation of new laboratory programs as contracted by SVRMC and ongoing over site of regulatory compliance.

EDUCATION: Minimum four years in a clinical laboratory as a technologist/technician required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's or Associate of Science degree required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES ASCP or equivalent certification as medical technologist/technician required. Must meet CLIA '88 requirements for performing high complexity testing as defined in the Federal Register, Vol. 57, No. 40, Subpart 493.1489.

SKILLS:. Must read and write English and have highly effective verbal and written skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with laboratory and/or hospital stakeholders to accomplish organizational goals.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

-Responsible to: Laboratory Director

ENVIRONMENT:

Bloodborne pathogen C: Routine Exposure Risk. Routine exposure in daily duties. Exposed to potentially infectious material on a regular basis and is part of the expected job task. May be required to wear gloves, laboratory coat, facemask, and goggles. Exposed to carcinogenic, hazardous, and flammable chemicals, biohazardous and adioactive materials, sharp needles and blades, infectious specimens, toxic fumes, and mental stress.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to work more than standard shift as dictated by workload, staffing, and equipment failure. Standing, sitting, and/or ambulating for the entire shift assigned. Prefer the ability to move Laboratory supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds.
