Position Summary: The Clinical Manager is responsible for operations of the ASC including supervising activities in the clinical area as well as coordinating nursing services with those of the medical and administrative staff. The Manager participates as part of the center’s management team in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making, primarily with the functions and operations of the facilities nursing services. The Manager is responsible for the quality of patient care, resource and fiscal management in the clinical setting. 

Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and supervising clinical services and patient activities 2. Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the center 3. Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern employee practice in the clinical setting and other services under her/his control 4. Ensures compliance with regulations of governing bodies, accreditation organizations, Federal and state regulations by continually monitoring the facilities service delivery and initialing changes as necessary 5. Provides leadership and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, and outcome achievement 6. Assesses the quality of care rendered by the staff 7. Responsible for the credentialing of nursing and technical staff 8. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, staff retention, performance evaluation and staff development in the clinical setting 9. Attends Professional Standards Committee meetings and takes meeting minutes as needed. 10. Ensures the proper function of equipment and quantity of supplies 11. Ensures cost-conscious use of all resources 12. Fosters a smooth functioning, efficient organization through timely and effective resolution of disputes 13. Supports and participates in Quality Assurance activities 14. Abides by and supports established center policies and procedures 15. Maintains confidentiality of patient and center related business 16. Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors, medical staff members and center employees 17. Plans and recommends equipment needs and or modifications to center


  • Current State License
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Five years experience in operating room nursing
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with clinical supervision in a surgical setting
  • Current BLS & ACLS required; PALS preferred
