Job Description
The Nuclear Med Tech will perform diagnostic nuclear studies and provide written technical impression to assist cardiologists with interpretations.
Requirements
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited radiologic technology or nuclear medicine program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: New Mexico Nuclear Medicine license required. Board certified ARRT(N), or NMTCB required.
SKILLS: Must possess strong organizational, time management, detail and communication skills; the ability to prioritize projects and work in a fast paced, frequently crisis driven environment. Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and typing; expert in spreadsheet usage; EMR experience and ability to work in electronic health record. Must possess problem solving skills such as determining appropriateness of a test and coordinating patient care with other departments. Must be able to provide complicated information in a clear and concise manner to those not familiar with the information being provided. Bilingual in Spanish or local Native languages a plus.
EXPERIENCE: One year nuclear medicine experience required. Prior experience working in customer care or healthcare settings involving diverse populations such as the elderly, ill and distraught patients, families in crisis and those with limited understanding of insurance and health care processes and procedures.

Exposure to various body fluids and radioactive isotopes. Exposure to airborne particles, risk of fire, and risk of electrical shock.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
On a regular basis: Sitting, reaching, stretching, converse with the public using the spoken and written word, to hear and see those for which there is interaction; work with documents formatted using small print and complicated grids, fingering or manual dexterity and repetitive finger motion, shoulder and wrist motion; ability to see, have close vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception and focusing; walking standing, there is a lot of up and down with having to set up patients on the camera, inject patient and process studies.
On an occasional basis: Assist patients in sitting up or transporting them on and off the imaging table; ability assist a patient of up to 300 lbs in sitting up from a supine position; stand, lift or exert force up to 30 lbs.; crouch and stoop; and exposure to loud noises.
