Summary:

Provides primary care to a designated group of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Assists in the collection of patient data used to determine nursing needs of the patient. Works with other disciplines to ensure a Collaborative approach to the care of the patient.

The Christus Spohn Cancer Center (CSCC) offers a full range of advanced treatment options. Our Medical Oncology team consists of two physicians and three advanced practitioners who are over both inpatient and outpatient services in multiple locations throughout the Christus Spohn System. Each of the Medical Oncologists typically carries a patient load of 25 patients per day in clinic, and the infusion/chemotherapy department performs services for approximately 45 patients per day at our main location, and nearly 20 patients per day at our second location. Radiation Oncology includes two locations that offer the services of external beam radiation, Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife. The laboratory provides a full range of hematology and metabolic services. We also offer a Palliative Care consultation program, which has an active daily census of 15 – 20 patients per day. The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and is the only regional cancer center to receive this honor. With three clinics located throughout the Coastal Bend, the CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center and its clinics are a place where oncologists and clinicians are passionate about their patients’ care.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Will accept a new graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Current Texas State LVN license. 
• CPR - (American Heart Association)
