Health Information Management Supervisor - Savoy Job in Mamou

Summary:

HIM Supervisor supervises all Health Information Management functions for Savoy Medical Center. Oversees the department’s daily operations, in order to maintain appropriate workflow. Directs staff and activities in areas such as filing, record processing, abstracting/coding, correspondence and transcription. Trains new employees and conducts in-service for current staff on new and revised procedures. Communicates with physician’s offices regarding incomplete record status. Participates in departmental quality improvement activities. Holds monthly staff meetings with educational and other required components. Maintains staffing schedule of vacations and maintain payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Maintains accountability for performance management expectations. Maintains inter- and intra-departmental communication flow to assure appropriate and timely patient care.

Requirements:

Education/Skills:

· High School diploma

· Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology

· Associate Degree in Medical Office discipline preferred

Experience:

· 1-2 years hospital experience or medical office preferred
