Summary:

The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for the data entry and maintenance of the credentialing files for Jacksonville, Winnsboro, and Sulphur Springs hospital. This involves extensive medical staff file review and interaction with physicians. This role will report directly to the Medical Staff Manager.

Requirements:

· Responsible for maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality of all physician information

· Must have excellent customer service and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriately with physicians and other staff members

· Must have high degree of organization skills with the ability to independently prioritize work as may be necessary to meet department and customer deadlines.

· Assist Medical Staff Manager with preparation of Med Staff credentialing file for Medical Executive Committees

· Creation of Monthly Credentialing Summary for Medical Executive Committee and Governing Board approval

· Notification to staff for new providers (i.e. log-in, dictation number, etc.)

· Data entry of approval /resignation dates

· Manual uploading and maintenance of provider profiles in MD-Staff

· Monthly creation & mailing of appointment letters

· Daily completion of provider affiliation requests

· Medical Staff file audits

· Researching, Printing, Filing, expirables (licensure, BLS, Insurance etc.)

· Facilitating provider requests for data (Immunizations, certifications, and case logs)

· Must have knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS Conditions of participation for both Medical Staff services and Medical Records
