Summary:
The Director Health Plans Corporate Services is responsible for vendor management, State license and filings, NCQA HP Accreditation, and education and training for CHRISTUS Health Plan associates. This position with coordinate closely with senior leadership and serve as the leadership liaison with CHRISTUS Health system legal, education and training teams. A high degree of professionalism is required due to the interaction with both internal and external contacts. This is a key role in defining, establishing, and implementing strategic corporate services design, accreditation maintenance, and functionality for the CHRISTUS Health Plans. The Director will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and will work closely with all leaders of the Health Plan. Direct reports include delegated vendor PM II, Licensing and Filing Coordinator, NCQA Manager, and Education and Training Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
• Assists plan leadership in developing and establishing the business strategic direction to meet requirements and goals.
• Develops managers of multiple business units to add stability and consistency in CHRISTUS Health Plan operations.
• Analyzes availability of operational and personnel resources, timeliness of projects, and responsiveness to exception conditions that arise.
• Leads the CHRISTUS Health Plan into a high-performing organization through education, training and routine measurement review of high priority metrics.
• Collaborates with other internal health plan and system departments and regions to ensure business process improvement initiatives meet stated deadlines.
• Determines and manages multiple sources of related services, including selecting and working with business and company partners, and consultants.
• Assists and facilitates informed direction and collaboration on a variety of divisional decisions regarding operation solutions and services.
• Assists in proposal development for new business initiatives.
• In partnership with plan leadership, effectively manages and controls expenses while setting and monitoring performance to budget.
• Knowledge of general Federal and applicable State regulatory environment related to managed care and participation in legislative advocacy activities as appropriate.
• Routinely reviews contracts to ensure compliance with State and federal regulations. Works with compliance to ensure proper contract approvals through regulatory bodies.
• Identifies, researches and directs vendor selection determinations for the organization. Functions as a liaison for the organizational stakeholders to ensure vendor relations are strong and functioning well. Ensures vendor performance achieves planned outcomes based on business case. Utilizes vendor data metrics to track and measure vendor performance; communicates performance to vendors.
